Inventory

The Inventory of land stewardship initiatives in Spain, prepared by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, includes the current situation of this nature conservation tool in our country and brings together all the initiatives carried out by land stewardship entities. To this end, all the entities collaborate on a voluntary basis.

It is the main source of information on land stewardship to know its scope and evolution, so it is a reference information about the trajectory of land stewardship in Spain.

The latest published inventory now lists more than 218 stewardship entities involved in 3,100 agreements on almost 600,000 hectares.

It builds on the social fabric to improve the state of biodiversity and ecosystems. Its great potential is the direct involvement of people and civil society to conserve and restore nature.

The process to have the most updated information on land stewardship entities and agreements in our country until 2023 has started, as well as the incorporation of new organisations that have emerged thanks to the promotion of this conservation tool in recent years. The updating of the inventory is planned continuously and with new IT tools that allow constant access to information on land stewardship entities and agreements in Spain.
